Beschreibung:

The Federal Environment Agency (UBA) invites you to learn about a changing region and German activities in the Arctic. On October 22, 2018, starting at 5.30 pm, the Dinosaur Hall of the Museum of Natural History in Berlin will be dedicated to the icy world around the North Pole. Arctic research representatives will answer your questions.

After a welcome by the hosts, Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) and Museum of Natural History, a short explanatory film by the UBA will shed light on the relationship between Germany and the Arctic. From 6.30 pm you can ask your questions about the Arctic in the framework of a science arena - for example for research, legal aspects but also for specific protection activities. Melanie Bergmann (Deep Sea Research, Garbage in the Arctic Sea), Gerold Lüerßen (Migratory Birds), Dr. Ing. Dirk Notz (meteorology, sea ice) and Kristina Schönfeld (international law). In addition, information stands offer the opportunity to inquire directly about the current and planned activities of German institutions. Guaranteed are the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), the Nature Conservation Union (NABU), the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) and the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF). Or ask what each one of us can do to help protect the Arctic.
