The European Commission and the European External Action Service invite maritime stakeholders worldwide to a high-level event presenting final recommendations and next steps for a global ocean sustainability action developed under the EU International Ocean Governance (IOG) Forum.
Planned as a virtual event on the afternoon (CET) of April 20, 2021, the 3rd IOG Forum will not only present the outcome of the IOG Forum process but also announce the next steps for the European Commission’s post-2020 IOG Agenda.
The Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevi?ius will open the event and also present the next steps for the IOG agenda. Furthermore, the event will feature keynote speeches from high-level international representatives and perspectives from key Commission services on the action areas outlined in the IOG Forum recommendations.
These recommendations stem from IOG Forum webinars and workshops held between April and July 2020, online consultations conducted from July to October and the 2nd IOG Forum in December (short summary of the event here).
