Physical Processes of Coastal and Marine Environment
The course focuses on the physical oceanography with emphasis on processes and the application in biological studies. It gives an understanding of the principles of the physical environment of the ocean and coastal processes. The course examines how these principles can be applied in an interdisciplinary fashion in the management of coastal and marine environments. Students will explore changes in the physical environment and the interaction of such changes with human activities and exploitation of natural resources. It involves also an introduction of quantitative techniques for data processing, statistical techniques, measuring principles and data presentation in the field of oceanography, geophysics, geology, chemistry and geography in coastal and marine areas.
