Beschreibung:

International Marine Protected Areas Congresses (IMPAC) are an opportunity for the global community of marine conservation managers and practitioners to exchange knowledge, experience and best practices to strengthen the conservation of marine biodiversity and to protect the natural and cultural heritage of the ocean. IMPAC congresses are a collaborative effort between the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the chosen host country.

The Fifth International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC5) is a global forum that brings together ocean conservation professionals and high-level officials to inform, inspire and act on marine protected areas.

Furthermore, IMPAC5 is an opportunity to bring together Indigenous peoples and cultures from around the world to embrace a collaborative approach and learn from Indigenous leadership in ocean conservation.

Four Reasons to attend IMPAC5

  1. Join thousands of Marine Protected Area (MPA) professionals from around the world to chart a course towards protecting 30 percent of the ocean by 2030.
  2. Learn about the role of Indigenous knowledge and innovative sustainability initiatives from local and international Indigenous leaders.
  3. Join young leaders from across the globe in discussions and activities that showcase youth engagement in MPAs.
  4. Contribute to international decision-making on marine protection policy by sharing ideas and recommendations to be considered during the IMPAC5 Leadership Forum.
