Main Objective is to improve the network of pleasure boat harbours in the Baltic Sea Region. Boat tourism offers regional economic development opportunities, not least in small communities having lost traditional harbour functions (fishery, commercial port), but requires a network approach across borders. The goals of this INTERREG II C project were to prepare framework plans for an improved physical network of marinas as an integral part of both the natural environment and urban/regional infrastructures as well as for the improvement of individual harbours as part of urban structures. Moreover, the exchange of experience within the field of harbour planning was to be enforced. |
