Dauer: 01/09/2016 - 31/10/2017
Beschreibung: In the year 2016/17, we want to inspire children and young people for the river and the sea. Together with the sturgeon we invite them on a journey from the rivers to the sea and back again. Sturgeons are one of the most fascinating and most endangered fish species in Germany. In their way of life topics such as species conservation, waters engineering structures and aquatic pollution, the connection of the river and the sea can be conveyed practically and clearly. On concrete examples, we show that different actors from science, politics, authorities and nature conservation must work together to ensure that sturgeons and other migratory fish return to our waters one day.

In our collaborative project, we are developing new formats of knowledge dissemination, which are to be used in school teaching and outside schools in order to enable non-formal and informal learning. In doing so, we focus on participatory (eg participation in rearing and fish stocking) and educational/ activating elements (eg water backpack, migratory fish poster, film) to encourage children, young people to participate, learn and form.
